Martin Francis Trollope - ‘Found Memories’

“A suite of beautifully realised, sincere songs… a relevant and contemporary album that will certainly take some beating as album of the year already.”

- Tom Astley, NARC. Magazine

Released March 1st 2024, preceded by an album launch at Sea-Change Cafe in South Shields on Thursday February 29th, with support from Amateur Ornithologist, Isabel Maria and Jack Fox. Free entry, doors at 19:30.

South Shields born Martin Francis Trollope has been writing and performing his own music in a variety of projects under a variety of names (The Railway Club most notably) for nearly 20 years, but this is his first album to be released under his own name.

‘Found Memories’ is an intimate, gentle collection of songs, loosely themed around (perceived) loneliness, existential dread, and working hard to find out who you really are. That said, it’s a lot more upbeat and fun than that previous sentence might suggest. The feelings and ideas here are raw, and deliberately unpolished. Maybe it’s best described as ‘bedroom pop’ for reasons you can probably hear.
